My Yoga Journey - It changes my life...

I remember my first yoga class was during one of my personal trips to a resort in Phuket, Thailand. I found that I liked Yoga immediately after the class. So, I started to do some research about joining yoga classes in Hong Kong after the trip. Before that, I had hired a personal trainer from a famous gymnasium center for just workouts. I soon realized I loved doing yoga after several sessions in HK. I then looked into a yoga teacher training course because I wanted to expand my yoga knowledge. Additionally, I wanted to focus on preventing injuries during yoga (I myself had sprain of my left hamstring during yoga practice at an earlier). It was for my own sake initially, but I wanted to share this knowledge with other. Finally, I decided to go to India to studying yoga after several months of research. I had decided to quit my job and take up another challenge. I am grafetful this this decision as it has become one of my best gifts in my life! I experimented and learnt a lots during my time in India. It changed my values, the way I see things and the small things in my daily life!

I decided to be a yoga teacher, shortly after of one of my friends' reunion dinner when I was back to Hong Kong (From India). She explained her frustration in her current yoga classes. She could keep up with the pace of the class. Additionally she did not know what the yoga instructor was practising during the larger class groups. I had shared with her some of the teachings and experiences I had learnt from my time in India. I would like to share this knowledge beyond a regular yoga class/session.

Pranayama is one of the crucial components within yoga. It was tailor-made for specific health concerns (i.e. flatulence). It is a priority that we look after the well-being of all our students. This is one of the big reasons that I insist in smaller class groups. We wish for our students to practie yoga safely, letting our poses get into our body rather than our body get into the poses. I started my yoga teaching journey after the conversation with my friends then...
